Poetry, tea sips, and conversations
Both my daughters share a love for Vintage like me. They are passionate readers and my oldest is a novelist herself working on her master’s degree in literature. Growing up I would take them with me Vintage shopping for photography props, vintage lace, and teacups, and so many more.
Our love for 19th- Century Victorian era has taken us through a few styled shoots like this Jane Auten inspired session taken like eight years ago. Even though we love modern fashion, we always have a pull towards pinafores, and gloves, and ruffled underskirts.
Ever since we moved to San Antonio, my youngest daughter has been looking for special places like these where she can have her special social gathering with her newfound friends. I like to call them the Pickwick society from the book Little Women but that’s not the name of their choosing.
We discovered this little gem just two days before the closing for renovations… “WHAT? Your closing the cafe? But WHY?!!! I love the place!”, yes, I may or might not have a little breakdown there BUT, I went the very next and last day of them being open and completely did an impromptu shoot for my daughter and her friend. It also happened it was my birthday so they gifted me the session and some delicious meal. This is the beautiful photographs taken at such a cute location.
This is our quick Little Women take of the place. Mind you the place was packed and most of the photographs I took while sitting with them at the table.
I’m so thankful for The Avocado Cafe for allowing us to do this quick shoot. I can’t wait for them to open again. In the meantime, I need to find more places with romantic aesthetics to do more Little Women sessions.
