Lost in Austen!

A Jane Austen Styled Photo Session

My oldest daughter is all about reading. She could read and read nonstop! Jane Austen has been one of her favorite author…but then again, who doesn’t fall in love with Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice or who doesn’t have a little of Emma  in us from Emma. It was no wonder when we put together a Jane Austen styled photo session for her. Lost in books! Lost in Austen!

But one can not just pile a bunch of books and a typewriter and start taking pictures. At least not me, I like to create the mood. I love to get lost in the adventure, and I like for the people I photograph to get lost in the adventure too! So the place to set it up has to help, and I found THE perfect early 19th century European style kind of building. The structure and imaginable history of the building transported us into a time of ballroom dances and undeniable romantic stories, thus the “mood” was created. Not only the building looks spectacular, but it also looks fantastical and almost erie. I love it! For Kiara to get lost in Austen took no time! She was there! She was “Elizabeth” or “Emma”…a hopeless romantic!
