This is my WHY
For these are the days I’ll long to have back again!
Legacy sessions reflect my WHY. What I try to say when I do photographic essays. It is my engine, inspiration, and motivation. Simply put, I LOVE MY MOM JOURNEY and I want to encourage yours too.
You probably heard me say “these are the days I’ll long to have back again!” right before starting or at some point in a home session. That’s my mindset. I want to capture every single meaningful moment of who you are as a mother, as who they are at the age they are, and how you define and express your love…oh, that little hand on your cheek means the world to me…for these are the days I’ll long to have back again!
A Mother’s Legacy Series
Years ago, I was thinking of ways I could give back to my amazing mom clients. (Yes, dads, I’m still thinking of something special for you too.) Something that celebrated motherhood. You see, for the most part, we are the ones taking photos but we are NOT in the photos. That has to change! Your children WANT to see you in the picture too! They don’t care about your looks, your bad hair day or those unnoticeable “x,y and z” we so harshly criticize in ourselves. They just want and love YOU! The whole of you, flaws included!
So what is the very thing I can give back to you? A meaningful, powerful, memorable time with your child(ren), no matter the age, that will be treasured for years to come. And a promise that you’ll be beautiful and loved in the process. The result was generations celebrated and preserved in gorgeous photographs.
The Setup & Styling
Every year is an exclusive set up for you to have your loving connection with your loved ones. I’m so excited for this will be the first time in San Antonio, TX. I wanted to incorporate some local greenery.
And as every year, I’ll have a Puerto Rico set up too. Sorry ladies, I’m not packing cacti for PR’s sessions 😉 But, imagine this setup at the beach…or at the pine forest?
I love and do a styling consultation for every session I do. Most of the time I have the perfect outfit to match the session from my studio’s evergrowing closet. Sometimes I get to create the outfit, like this dress. It is my first try on a lace kimono dress. I knew it would photograph beautifully.
The Love Letter My dearest child…
What would you write down in your letter to them? Often times life is too busy and noisy. Part of this session is taking the time to sit and pour your affection into words. Some moms prefer to write them at home and bring them you the session while others take the feeling of the session to start writing theirs in the set. Whatever you chose to do it, it will be a beautiful Legacy for their lifetime!
Imagine your teen daughter reading this love letter written to her when she was still being carried in your arms… Imagine her feeling the warmth of your love, or the smell of your perfume.
Imagine a 20 something-year-old boy reading his love letter and how it will guide and encourage him in his life-making decisions.
This Mother’s Day celebrate your wife, mother, or friend and gift her this beautiful experience. Ask me about the Gift certificates we offer. She’ll love the gift of love and connection and forever photographs. I hope this session will bless you and your family for generations to come!
