SILVER AWARD!
I AM BEYOND EXCITED!!!!

This is my very first entry to a competition and I can’t believe I was awarded a silver for my Peter Pan album.

WPPI stands for Wedding & Portrait Photographers International. Every year they held the biggest photography convention in the world. Over 14,000 photographers from all around the world (39 countries this year) come either to teach, share, learn, grow and compete as a professional photographers. It is an incredible experience.

This year, my sweet, sweet husband (and CEO of our two studios) filled my entry to complete with my Peter Pan inspired photo shoot in the album event…I was freaking out when he told me…but now I’m glad he did! He has been my teacher and encourager for years. If there is some good in my work is because of his constant support believing in me, probably more than I believe in myself as this proves it!

It is an incredible honor (and a whole lot scary experience) to have my work put under the microscope of the best photographers in the world and been awarded a silver! I can’t thank WPPI and the judges enough.

I am so grateful for this little boy and his incredible imagination. He confessed he believes that “Peter Pan exists” during the shoot. He made my day! What a blessed time of childhood, when we are not afraid of believing, when we take risks and fly! Thanks Lorenzo, don’t ever forget to re visit Neverland once in a while!

I also want to give thanks to his amazing mother, that I can call friend, who trusted me to capture her very own Peter as she encourages him to wander and imagine before he grows up too fast!

And although the album competition does not consider the album binding in itself, just the design of the pages, they should totally take in consideration this amazing album binding design. When we think of albums, most of us think of a regular squared, one color book. Our album company is so beyond extraordinary. I can custom create any design that best suits the concept shoot I created! Their constant artistic creative range and their exquisite quality of products makes GraphiStudio the only album company for my studio. This album was exclusively designed for this shoot! The book and box are in  distressed Italian leather. The compass and name was laser engraved into the leather, creating a relieve you can actually touch and feel. Isn’t it amazing?

And most importantly, I thank God for the amazing opportunity of giving me the gift of seeing my kids grow in their own Neverland. Treasuring their childhood and imagination while we homeschooled and preserving them through photographs as they continue to grow up allowed me to want to do the same for others. I love childhood! I love to capture kids’ imagination and play pretend. It last but only for a little while, but I’m very proud to say my kids, although teens now, haven’t lost their pixie dust, and I hope they never do!
