“Life is a ticket to the
greatest show on earth”
Martin H. Fischer
Do you remember playing theater in the backyard or in the house? Do you remember the fun it was just to prepare a show for your audience: parents or all the dolls and stuffed animals you align to sit and watch you perform. My kids did a few of these as they were growing up, specially the little one. She stills like to act and probably will be pursuing that as a career as she grows more and more interested. Those are the memories I want to photograph for when they grow up these images will transport us back in the time when they were little and they used to play pretend. YES, I love childhood memories! My question is always, “how do you want to remember your kids like when they are no longer little?” Now is the time to collect these priceless and fleeting memories.
So how this vintage circus styled session happened? I guess crazy fun photographers attracts crazy fun moms! I LOVE childhood and everything that involves play pretend. In the back of my head I’m always planning and dreaming of how much fun it would be to do this or that inspired shoot. I have been dreaming, planing and collecting items for this session for a while (like for two years!) The idea is that I know I want to see kids play in this styled set, so I prepare for it (even if it takes to years to collect items!) And almost every time the right client comes to the studio and the idea I was planning for so long happens to describe your client’s child. It is the most exciting moment when I see your client’s reaction as we are brainstorming for a theme or an idea for their child’s session and one comes out that perfectly match their child’s personality or the stage your kid is in, because you can immediately for see your child’s enjoyment of the session, and most importantly the memories you are collecting of the time and age they are in now.
When I prepare the sets I plan more than one idea for the children to play with. There are a lot of rare interesting toys, and hidden little trinkets to grab the kids’ curiosity and see their imaginations soar. Camila is a very talented little girl. She is into dress up and play pretend so it was easy to see her in this “vintage circus” inspired backyard theater session. What I didn’t know is that she is an expert in the hula hoop, as you’ll see in the pictures. She is also musically talented, so she was most attracted to the various instruments in the set. And that’s the beauty of Happy Thoughts sets…there will be different as each child’s curiosity and interests are different. So even if you have ten kids in the same set, each experience will be unique…and super F.U.N.
So ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls WELCOME to Camila’s Backyard Theater & Play!
And what a great show it was! Camila’s backyard theater was an amazing show full of costumes, musical numbers and laughters galore! Perfect session for all audiences.
Our studio not only creates super fun interactive styled sessions for our little clients. It also creates super fun custom designed albums to perfectly match the colors of the session. I’m in love with Camila’s album. Our preferred album company is based in Italy and they are the most innovative, modern and creative album company there is. I guess crazy fun album companies attracts crazy fun childhood photographers 😉 We are the perfect match!
