The Princesses and The Pea

I’m so proud to present “The Princesses and The Pea” Isabella &Annelise 

We have been working on this set for a long time and every time we schedule something happens that we need to cancel. Everything has a time and a season, and this session couldn’t have been more perfect! The day was gorgeous, the location even better than the one I originally had chosen and the girls were in their happiest most imaginative mode!
When I’m working on a concept for a photo session I create a storyboard (drawings I promise you I will never ever show, haha), based on the anticipated possibilities of what the girls would do. I want to appeal to their imaginations. I want them to leap into the magical world of pretend play that is so easily grasped in childhood. This wonderful world become so easy for kids whose parents often read to them. I saw the same sparkle in my own kids growing up…and let me tell you, that sparkle never leaves them! Maybe because of the fantastic world of play pretend or for the fact that you are living memorable moments with your children, the effect is the same: very independent, confident kids.
These girl’s parents read to them ALL the time! Princesses and fairytales are their favorite stories. (A session can never go wrong with princesses and fairytales!) The color palette and different approaches to doing a fairytale princess can be endless. That’s why I always like to meet (or at least know a little more of the girl’s personality and preferences when styling for a session. The result? An amazing and memorable photo session experience they will never forget!
And they will never forget because the session doesn’t just end when you give the files to the family. I want to create art! Art for families to proudly display in their homes. Art that families want to treasure in beautiful heirloom books for years to come! So what to do with amazing fairytale princess images? Create your own fairytale book!
I’m very selective in the props and how I style a session. They have to go together to enhance the child’s experience and support the story. They have to be able to entice little kind to explore and pretend. The same goes for our albums and products. When choosing an album company, they have to be an extension of my work, not just another bookbinding provider. They have to have the same vision as my studio, which is to provide the best quality, dedication and creativity as my work. I’ve been so lucky to find just that company.
