One world will very well describe this session: ADVENTURE! And what an adventure it was!
Peter Pan has always been one of my favorite stories (if not my very favorite!). Among many things, it depicts childhood. A boy who doesn’t want to grow up. Why? Because it is so much more fun to play, to explore, and to live without worries…wouldn’t it be wonderful?
“To live will be an awfully big adventure” Peter Pan
That’s what I love to capture and preserve the most when photographing kids; their sense of wonder, imagination, and adventure.
Lost Boys…and Tinker Bell too! was the perfect adventure for these three rambunctious-inquisitive-hands-on kind of brothers, and tough but girlie sister. This is exactly how I would picture the Lost Boys and Tinker Bell in Neverland.
Bow and arrows, slingshots, wooden swords, furry animal hats, compass and spyglasses, pirate keys, wooden treasure chests were amazing props to further ignite the Lost Boys’ imagination and exploration. Emilee was the perfect Tinker Bell, being only 3, was super excited to find pixie dust in her little pouch! Yes, CHILDHOOD is back!
And the tree! Oh my! The tree was their daddy’s idea, and it worked wonderfully! I love trees! Specially vine trees. They add texture, depth, and character to photographs. So when their daddy started putting them on the tree (even the one year old baby, eek!), needless to say I was freaking out a bit (a LOT). Safety is extremely important to me, but when their parents where totally ok with it, and since they are very cooperative kids, I was able to get great shots (and super fast so they could quickly get down, lol) of the kids! What an adventure!
The set!
The tree!
Devin immediately came into character. He called me to take his picture while hanging from a branch!
This is Addison. He can totally be Peter Pan!
Emilee’s reaction when she found the pixie dust inside the little leather pouch!
Baby Ian is only a year old and already engaging in the adventure. It was priceless! Boys will be boys!
I love this little Tinker Bell! She is strong and girlie just like Tinker Bell!
No good Neverland story would be complete without shadows, and I just loved the boys and swords silhouette!
Thank you super awesome Ayala kids (and their very cool parents too!) for the adventure!

Cute, cute, cute! I love this concept and all of the props.
this is exquisite. I adore it beyond words. I’m sure it was amazing fun. You created the most perfect memory for them. Stunning!!
Thank you Rhonda! It was so much fun to see them just being themselves and play and explore! Can’t wait to do this session again sometime.
This is adorable! Please tell me where you got this tinker bell outfit from!? I am in love and I need this for my daughters photo shoot! Thank you so much
Hi Haylea, thanks! I actually made the Tinker Bell outfit. It is adorable!
Hi Marelly,
I love your work! Do you happen to have a pattern that you used to create the Tinkerbell costume? I would love to try to duplicate it for my daughter!
Oh Kayla, if only you knew…I’m a terrible seamstress. What I really do is improvise, alter and make it happen. I don’t even know how to use patterns :/
These pics are so adorable!! Where did you get the boys brown vest??
Hi Amanda, Thank you!, I actually up cycled a vintage leather jacket I found at Salvation Army and took the sleeves off. You can tell is a little big on the boy, but works fine for me.
