When was the last time you truly celebrated the love and connection you share with your family through photography?
I’m not talking about traditional family photos or “cheese” snapshots with an expensive camera. I’m talking about celebrating the adoring way your daughter hugs you and smiles when Daddy walks through the door… or the curious way your son explores the world around him.
When was the last time you and your spouse paused to celebrate why you fell in love—and all the reasons you adore the family you’ve built?
IIt sounds like a long time… but it isn’t. Time moves so quickly. We’ve all heard it—“they grow up so fast”—but here I am, wondering where this past year went. Is it the same for you?
With a new year comes another birthday just around the corner. And despite all my efforts to stay present—to intentionally slow down and soak it all in—I still feel that tug in my heart. The one that shows up when I’m scrolling through old photos, searching for moments to hold onto… trying to ease the reality that they are growing up faster than I’m ready for.
“Am I missing it?”
If that question crossed your mind just now, let me gently ask you this:
Years from now, will you have enough tangible moments to remember just how little they once were?
And that brings me to this…
We only get 18 years with our kids.
It sounds like a lot… but it isn’t. Time moves quickly. We’ve all heard it—“they grow up so fast”—yet here I am, wondering where this past year went. Is it the same for you?

Despite my best efforts to stay present and soak it all in, I still feel that tug in my heart—the one that appears when I’m scrolling through old photos, searching for moments to hold onto… trying to ease the reality that they are growing up faster than I’m ready for.
“Am I missing it?”
If that question crossed your mind just now, let me ask you this: years from now, will you have enough tangible moments to remember just how little they once were?

At least we have something, right? Moments saved on Facebook or Instagram.I’ve found myself scrolling through old posts, feeling a brief sense of relief as those memories resurface… until an unwelcome thought quietly slips in:
“What happens to these moments if these platforms disappear one day?“
I laugh it off. It sounds silly. I move on to more immediate, important things…But the thought lingers. It comes back unexpectedly, hovering in the background—
What if? What then?
And here’s the truth:Even though this is the most documented generation in history, it may also become the least preserved.
That’s a sobering thought.
Even though this is the most documented generation in history, it may also become the least preserved. That’s sobering. What happens to a generation without something tangible to hold onto—without a story they can revisit, feel, and pass down?

Your children’s story deserves to be told
When I was growing up, I remember the feeling of discovering “me” as I looked through my photographs. They weren’t a lot of them but I had them. They were small, defining pieces of who I was, filling in moments of my childhood I didn’t even remember. They told my story. And as I grew, those same images revealed new perspectives… new layers of meaning I hadn’t seen before.
Do you have photographs of yourself from when you were little?
How did having them—or not having them—shape you as you grew up?
Wouldn’t you want your children to have that same gift—their own story to hold onto?
When I became a mother, I knew exactly what I wanted to be for my children…
I wanted to be their storyteller.
I wanted to document every milestone—big and small. Every accomplishment. Every beautiful smile… and yes, even the tantrums. Every meaningful moment, every silly antic, every quiet pause, every tear.
Because ALL of it matters. All of it is proof that they were here—wonderful, alive, and real—with raw emotions and genuine, one-of-a-kind personalities.
I wanted to tell their story…and photography holds that kind of magic.

Moms and dads, you hold a powerful tool—especially now, with phones in our hands at all times.
I can’t emphasize this enough: you are your child’s storyteller.
They won’t remember every wonderful moment of their childhood. But you can help them see their true value, their sense of belonging, and the magic of their story through printed photographs.
Print your children’s stories. Preserve them. Printed photographs are the only tangible evidence of their childhood years—a gift they’ll carry for a lifetime.
Childhood is fleeting, and we only get to enjoy it for such a short while.
Today, I enjoy the rewards of capturing my children’s stories and sharing them every year around their birthdays.
My three kids are incredible. (I may be biased—but honestly, they are amazing human beings.) They are independent enough to consider the consequences of their decisions, confident enough to pursue their passions, and generous enough to share their treasures and talents with others.
Growing knowing their own story through years of photographs has shown them how deeply they were loved, that they belonged, and yes—they were beautiful enough to be photographed every single day.
And like you, I was a mom first—not a professional photographer—when I started this journey.

Every photograph you take is more than just an image—it’s a message to your child: You are seen. You are valued. You belong.

When children see themselves captured in everyday moments, celebrations, and milestones, they begin to internalize their importance in the family story. They learn that their feelings, achievements, and unique personalities matter.
Photography helps children understand their worth—not just through compliments or praise, but by giving them tangible evidence of their life, their growth, and the love surrounding them. Looking back at these images years later, they remember the joy, the fun, and even the challenges. They see that they were celebrated, embraced, and cherished every step of the way.
A child who grows up with their story documented develops confidence in who they are, a strong sense of self, and the security of knowing they belong. These are the gifts that last a lifetime—far beyond toys, clothes, or trends.
By investing in capturing their story today, you’re giving them something that will quietly empower them for years to come: proof that they were always loved, important, and uniquely themselves.
Photographs give you a way to pause time. They capture not just how your children looked, but who they were—their personality, their emotions, their spirit. Years from now, these images will be the only tangible testament of your child’s story in a way no memory or social media post ever could. They will remind your family of the love, laughter, and everyday magic that make your story uniquely yours.

From my heart to yours
As a mom, I know how quickly the days pass and how easy it is to let moments slip by unnoticed. I’ve lived it—the quiet hugs, the silly antics, the everyday milestones that seemed ordinary at the time but are now priceless memories captured in photographs.
Through documenting my children’s stories year after year, I’ve seen the incredible impact it has had—not just on them, but on me. Looking back at their childhood through images has reminded me how much they were loved, how much they belonged, and how truly extraordinary their lives have been from the very beginning.
I wasn’t a professional photographer when I started—I was just a mom wanting to preserve the magic of my children’s childhood years. And now, seeing the joy, confidence, and sense of belonging that those photographs have given them is a reward beyond words.
I want the same for you. I want you to capture your children’s story, celebrate your family, and hold onto the moments that truly matter—because one day, you’ll look back and realize just how much those memories shaped your family’s story and your children’s lives.

PRINT these moments
Invest in preserving these moments today. Don’t wait for “one day” to think about documenting their lives. Every day matters, and every photograph is a gift that will last a lifetime.
