Mommy and Me Tea Party

“Dear Momma, I have so many beautiful memories from our childhood, but most of all, thank you for tea parties. I remember we would dress up in our prettiest of dresses and frocks, laces, and pearls for our special tea parties in the garden.

Those mommy-and-me tea parties were special although our big brother was not very fond of them. I remember we sat on our favorite blankets on the grass and ate our homemade cookies and poured juice we pretended was tea into our favorite vintage teacups…were there Holy Hobbie designs on them? You always loved vintage toys like the gorgeous baby carriage you got us for our dolls. My baby sister was a baby herself but she adored playing mommy and would play for hours with that carriage.

You were busy taking care of us, doing school, chores, and even caring for others. I’m sure we drove you crazy many times yet you always found a way to nourish our curious minds while doing nature walks. There was always time to stop and enjoy the little things in life, become a little nicer and kinder every day, and enjoy and preserve our happy childhood. Momma, thank you for the tea parties. Love, your daughter one day…”

This is precisely what your daughter would write one day when she relives those childhood days…ok, maybe not write a letter like this but surely the thought of awe and appreciation will be there when she sees her photographs.
