It’s Christ-mas!
It was been a wonderful Christ-mas season! Christ-mas decorations! The carefully selecting the perfect Christ-mas gifts for the special people in our lives.Wrapping the presents! Family and friends gatherings. The anticipation of this day is almost magical. But what I LOVE the most are the Christ-mas songs. I have selected only five of my favorite Christ-mas songs! Want to feel the Christ-mas spirit? This is the song that puts me in the Christ-mas mood immediately…
1) Christ-mas Is All In The Heart by Steven Curtis Chapman
My husband and I have been carefully collecting Christ-mas music for almost 20 years! We range from very classic and solemn, to very hard core and even funky, not to mention Veggie Tales Christ-mas music, they are a category on their own! But all of them have the same message: the birth of Jesus Christ! And I can’t help but try to comprehend something that is so incomprehensible! God Almighty became a baby for our salvation. We all know Silent Night, but have you heard “Hey Moon!” by Sidewalk Prophets?
2) Hey Moon! by Sidewalk Prophets
Have you ever stopped and think about Mary? A teenage girl, who endure all kinds of rejections and despise looks when she was chosen to be the mother of Jesus. But those nine months were so rewarded when she hold the Son of God, and like this song says…did she know? Did she know that when she was kissing her baby, she was kissing God’s face himself. Ponder in just that…when you have your baby, you just can’t stop looking at him (her) and you can’t stop kissing him (her). What a privilege for Mary to carry in her arms God in baby form.
3) Mary Did You Know? by Kutless
Since my kids were very little we always had a birthday cake on Christ-mas Eve to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus. Birthdays has always been a big deal in our family. I always say that of the 365 days of the year there is one that is absolutely and irrevocably your to celebrate your presence in our lives. So it is for December the 25th! It might not be the historically accurate day of birth, but it is the one we have been traditionally chosen for the event. And it IS a very big deal! Christ-mas Must Be Something More by Taylor Swift just remind us that all the craziness of the season is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ!
4) Chris-tmas Must Be Something More! by Taylor Swift
So how could it be? How can God became a baby? How can a baby be born for our salvation? Well, the story doesn’t end there. Later he became a man with the mission from God to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins, since our own efforts will always fall short , or be less that perfect, then Jesus, who was perfect, was the perfect person to make us perfect in front of God. This song is soooo hard to grasp! How can a baby be born to die? And yet that was the purpose and the reason why he was born…Baby Born to Die by Bebo Norman is absolutely the song that best captures that great event!
5)
If you happened to go to my house during Christ-mas season, you’ll hear hundreds of Christ-mas songs and cheers, and decorations (I can go a little crazy sometimes), and food! Oh so much yummy Puertorrican food! because I can’t help but to celebrate this Holy birthday! Happy Birthday Jesus!
Merry Christ-mas!
