I met Hillary a few years ago when she flew with her girlfriends for an epic adventure in Puerto Rico. Even though I usually don’t focus on “only adults” sessions, after talking with her and hearing the importance of this amazing trip for her, it was clear I wanted to photograph this amazing bond between dear friends having a great time together. Believe me, not much different than capturing four little girls, playing “travel” in PR.
The Beauty of Social connection
The beauty of social media kept us connected through the years. I learned so much about this amazing girl. She is not only a caring friend who secretly plans surprise photo sessions while traveling but she is also an incredible momma of five adorable children. Oh, and she fosters children once in a while too!
Did I mention my love for Vintage?
We both share a love for everything Vintage! So when she kept on posting about these amazing Vintage items I knew something extraordinary could be done. This is the result; a super special story of a mom sharing her childhood home with her children. It is also the story of all the magic that happens when these children visit Grandma’s and Grandpa’s memorabilia house. And even though this is a styled shoot, every photograph records a genuine laugh, an honest kiss, and true love and strong connection they feel for each other in a simple organic way. In other words, I was there to simply capture the love and connection this family shares when they are home!
Each room is filled with memories, love, and laughter.
Can you hear the music playing?
When they are at Grandma and Grandpa’s house they listen to 50’s music. I found it surprisingly cute when she started singing and dancing to a pop song I don’t even know. She dances so beautifully.
