Anne of Green Gables Inspired Photo Essay

Light. Light is everything to set a mood. The light that day was gorgeous and so perfectly harmonized with the story of Anne of Green Gables we wanted to tell.

She loves nature walks and collecting flowers. She loves to get lost in reading poetry under the shadow of a tree. And she loves Anne of Green Gables, and just like Anne Shirley, she is a spirited and kind girl.

I know many girls, mines included, who don’t conform to the mainstream of modern culture and fashion stereotypes. They rather invest in inner beauty and living wholesome, meaningful lives. What I find most interesting about searching for inner beauty is the inevitable outcome; a girl of grace, virtue, and wisdom beyond their years!

This is part of her story for this photo essay. She is a girl who embraces and dreams of better times in another era yet is sound minded to be light in this world.

She also cherishes friendship. This is my daughter and she is her friend. I’m glad my daughter was happy to play the small part of Diana Barry for a few shots in the story.

I love this sequence. All I had to do was to get them close to each other…this is the outcome!

This is actually Part 2 of the story of the day. The girls enjoyed a little more formal photographs with these dresses. I’ll soon share the genuine kindred spirit of her story in the next post.

I love textures. The light was getting better by the minute. I took a few different portraits enhancing her natural beauty against the natural textures.
