Vintage! What can I say…I love vintage! Girls! Oh what can I say…I love girls! Mix this two together and add some flowers, (or a LOT of flowers, nah! Let’s make it a flower market!) and you know you’ll have a beautiful photo shoot! A vintage flower market theme was perfect for this girls.
I always find inspiration in storybooks! Specially if the book has become a classic and although I didn’t know the existence of this particular book, who doesn’t know about Raggedy Ann? I found it while researching for Raggedy Ann stories. It turns out that this is the very first time Raggedy Ann was published. The illustrations are gorgeous and I fell in love, love at first sight if you want.
I found this little blue antique dress a LONG time ago and I was dying to use it, so when I was styling for baby Naomi’s pictures I couldn’t contain my excitement. She is the perfect baby for this kind of vintage look. She has a vintage kind of look and even though she is a happy baby, her natural expression is pensive, reflective, and almost serious. She is calm and quiet natured, and so delicate! Perfect for vintage look. The shoes just add the perfect touch for the style. She almost look like a doll from the 1900’s.
Her sister Diana is actually wearing my oldest daughter handmade dress from when she was 5 years old. My mom made it for her. I have beautiful pictures of her in that dress. Whenever she wore it, It always reminded me of Bob Carlisle “Butterfly Kisses” song that sings “sticking little white flowers all up in her hair…” (if you haven’t heard that song, get some Kleenex before you do, you’ll thank me later). It was perfect on Diana and the vintage flower market theme.
Having a flower market is a very busy business. The girls enjoyed separating and arranging the flowers, receiving orders by phone, reading the books in such a beautiful garden, and playing with dolls. But most of all they shared a beautiful time together in the land of play pretend…and in beautiful imagery of that day.
Diana almost like Holly Hobbie in this picture.
So cute even when pouting! (My favorite pic, btw) I love the little doll shoes!
I always look for little expressions like this one! So cute!
If the hat is too big, well let’s just play peek-a-boo! Love her quick respond and how it made everyone laugh!
Beautiful sisters!
