Ice Cream Summer Fun!

We have been brainstorming for this shoot for quite some time.  We went through different themes looking for one that Gretchen felt most passionate about and that best matched her fun and happy personality. She knew it had to have books! Lots of books! And then, there was the red polka dot dress, and everything went from there. The 50’s was the inspiration for the shoot. This vintage ice cream booth was the perfect set to do the session after a stroll by the pier on a vintage bicycle.

When styling and conceptualizing for shoots, I try to incorporate as many personal details as possible. It not only makes the shoot more interesting, it also makes it extremely memorable. Pets can make great additions to a photo session, specially for outdoors sessions. This adorable Shar Pei is Gretchen’s dog, named Mushu. He was well behaved and even posed for the camera. What we didn’t know was that these were going to be the last pictures she had with Mushu. He pass away couple of weeks after.  🙁  Mushu will be missed, but Gretchen will always have the memory of her beloved dog in beautiful images to remember him forever.
